Slayer's Unholy Alliance Chapter III Tour DatesSlayer Headline Latest Installment of The Unholy Alliance Tour
Headlined by thrash metal legends Slayer and also including Trivium, Mastodon and Amon Amarth, the latest version of The Unholy Alliance will soon be unleashed on Europe
The Unholy Alliance Chapter III Line-UpHeadlined by the mighty Slayer, The Unholy Alliance Tour, Chapter III will once again lay waste to a string of European venues this Autumn. Also featuring Trivium, Mastodon and Amon Amarth, the tour will kick off at the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England on 27th October. 14 dates have been announced so far, with the majority taking place in the UK and Germany as well as one-off shows in Switzerland, France and Austria. Matt Heafy of TrviumMatthew Heafy, Trivium's frontman commented: "Trivium is honored that Slayer has invited us to tour with them on the Unholy Alliance Tour. All of us in Trivium are diehard Slayer fans and we look up to them for their music and longevity. They are one of the true pillars of heavy metal and for us to share stages with them is both an honor and a privilege. We've also known the Mastodon guys for a few years and we're definitely looking forward to hanging with them as well." Guitarist Corey Beaulieu added: "I can't wait to get out on tour with Slayer so we can watch them crush every night and then have the opportunity to share many drinks with them and Mastodon after the shows! I better get my liver in shape... it's going to be awesome!" Original Unholy Alliance TourThe Unholy Alliance Tour first launched in Europe in 2004, with a bill featuring Slipknot, Slayer, Mastodon and Hatebreed. A Slayer-headlined North American version in 2006 (with Lamb Of God, Children Of Bodom, Mastodon and Thine Eyes Bleed) was misleadingly dubbed Chapter I with a similar European leg featuring In Flames in place of Mastodon being named Chapter II. Rick Sales, Slayer’s manager for 20 years, originally wanted the tour to be an annual event with different line-ups on each leg. “I think we’re in a different spot than Ozzfest,” he told MTV.com of the original Unholy Alliance sojourn. “This is more extreme and it’s not involving any sort of radio bands. It’s a no-compromise line-up, the best of the breed. We think this is a great live event and that the tour will become bigger than the line-up. I think Ozzfest has proven that.” Unholy Alliance Chapter 3 2008 Tour DatesThe European dates so far announced are as follows:
