Paganfest 2008 is a traveling metal festival featuring bands specializing in Viking Metal, Pagan Metal, and/or Folk Metal. Ensiferum headline both the European and North American Paganfest tours.

The European leg of Paganfest 2008 features Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Moonsorrow, Eluveitie, and Tyr.
Ensiferum, which is latin for "sword bearing", formed in 1995 in Helsinki, Finland. Ensiferum's latest album of Viking metal anthems is Victory Songs, available now on Spinefarm records.
Finnish folk metallers Korpiklaani (Finnish for "Forrest clan") release their next album, Korven Kuningas, meaning "King of the Woods", on Nuclear Blast records on March 21.
Moonsorrow perform epic folk/pagan metal. Their last album, Viides Luku - Hävitetty (Chapter Five - Ravaged), on Spinefarm, contained only two songs, but nearly an hour of music.
Eluveitie's "New Wave of Folk Metal" sound can be heard on Slania, released this week by Nuclear Blast.
Progressive folk metallers Tyr have their next album, Land, scheduled for an April release from Napalm Records.

Turisas Added For North American Paganfest Tour Through USA and Canada
The North American leg of Paganfest 2008 replaces Kopiklaani and Moonsorrow with Turisas, making the bill: Ensiferum, Turisas, Eluveitie, and Tyr.
Turisas released their second album, The Varangian Way, last year on Century Media records. Before the North American Paganfest, Turisas undertake their own European tour, including a headlining slot at the Finnish Metal Expo.
