Motley Crue have announced details of their Crue Fest touring package, with Buckcherry, Trapt, Papa Roach and Sixx:A.M. plus new Motley Crue album Saints of Los Angeles.

LA glam metal legends Motley Crue have announced details of the inaugural Crue Fest tour, which will be storming cities throughout the USA and Canada during July and August. Support for the jaunt will be Buckcherry, Trapt, Papa Roach and the Nikki Sixx side project Sixx:A.M. The announcement was made via a press conference broadcast live on Fuse TV and simultaneously screened on numerous internet sites. Produced by Live Nation, the shows will also feature a second 'stage' presented by the video game Rock Band, allowing attending Motley fans to display their moves on a giant screen whilst playing the game.

The Crue Fest dates will also be Sixx A.M.'s first tour, with the group having previously played only a five-song set at LA's Crash Mansion. After initially stating that they would not exist as a touring outfit, the band acceded to fan requests and scheduled a spring tour in the States, although this was later postponed 'due to unforeseen circumstances'.

Sixx had this to say of the Crue Fest tour: "We are SO excited not only to headline our own annual summer festival, but also to be able to share the stage with the next generation of great rock bands. There’s not a lot Mötley Crüe hasn’t done so to say this summer’s festival is going to be about rock ‘n roll excess is an understatement. A night of hit songs by great bands and a trail of panties coast to coast… Crüe Fest, hell yeah!”

During the press conference, the band also debuted their new single and title-track from the forthcoming album, Saints of Los Angeles, with a frenetic live performance. In an industry first the song - which features backing vocals from Josh Todd (Buckcherry), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), Chris Brown (Trapt) and James Michael (Sixx A.M.) - was made available as a download for the Rock Band video game at the same time as its single release.

New Motley Crue Album Saints Of Los Angeles

The Saints of Los Angeles album will hit shelves (and download sites) on June 17th in the US, with the release dates for other territories to be announced soon. The album will be Motley Crue's first full studio release since 2000 and the first with the original line-up since 1997's Generation Swine. Lyrically, the album will follow the story of the band's best-selling warts 'n' all biography The Dirt.
