Misery Signals - Mirrors (Ferret Music), Ferret Music

They say that Misery loves company, but when E.S. Day gets his "Signals" crossed, the result can be nothing more than a chimerical interview for the taking.

E.S. Day: How is this tour going with All That Remains?

BM: It’s going awesome man, most of the crowd is pretty receptive every night , ya know, and they’re like ; all young kids, so they’re pretty open minded since we are not exactly “Straight-Up Metal” we are kinda different you know?

E.S. Day: So…give me a tag, I’ mean what do you think? Punk?, Metalcore?…

BM: “Ah.. I’d say we’re more Hardcore influenced Metalcore, they’re[All That Remains] more Heavy Metal Metalcore so it’s a slight difference, but….

E.S.Day : (My infamous “cut-off”)…So you’re more Hatebreed…..or..

BM: No, we’re more melodic less Speed Metal, more groove –oriented…

E.S. Day: Chunk. Chunky

BM: Yeah.

Whew! (At least we got that straightened out – E.S. Day)

E.S. Day: Now the last tour you were on was with Norma Jean on the Sounds of The Underground

BM: No. No it was the “Radio Rebellion” Tour.

E.S. Day: Oh. Sorry, gotta get my act together, mind you this was an impromptu interview..

BM: Hey! (in his best emcee voice)

E.S.Day: Now be honest – how many have approached you by saying “Hey it’s the drummer for Misery Index? how many times? Seriously.

BM: Actually, that happens on a semi-regular basis, lees now than before, we were on tour with…I forget who the band was, but they made that mistake quite a few times

E.S Day: You mean they actually announced you as Misery Index?

BM: It a few times but I don’t really want to name names.

E.S. Okay quickly: Tama, Ludwig Pearl?

BM:: Mapex

E.S. Day: Endorsement or preference?

B M: Preference and endorsement (smart answer)

E.S. Day: Ok – good enough.

(But wait, there’s more!)

BM: I could not be happier with company…

E.S Day: All right, we’ll leave it at that.

BM: They make wonderful drums. I’m serious.

E.S. Yes, the beautiful birch

BM: And Maple & Walnut

Standing in the shadows of this interview was Crashed Pulse drummer Dov Kushnir whom I promptly spun around to inquire:

E.S. Day: And what do you use Dov?

Dov: Taye(pronounced Thai). It’s local (are you sure we are talking about drums here? – ESD)

E.S Day:. :Any tours, we should know about up front or up or collaborations, you know studio-wise?

BM: we don’t have anything planned out for the studio right now, of course we’re thinking of writing a new record we’re not sure when we were thinking maybe early fall next year

E.S.Day: Producer?

BM: Probably somebody different again

E.S. Ok, who did the last one – Mirrors (Ferret Music)

Ben Schigel, he did Chimaira and stuff

E.S Day: That’s right. What about festival appearances?

BM: don't know we’re going to try to get on the <, we were on it for the last 2 weeks last year

E.S Day: Were you well received well in the UK?

BM: It was awesome, we went over there with Darkest Hour and we are going to go back to mainland Europe & the UK with All That Remains in April. And we’ll be there for a month. So we are just going to be all over the place.

Thanks.

E.S. Day
